Amal Sen’s birth centenary prog concludes Tuesday


A year-long programme on the birth centenary of veteran left leader and founder-president of the Workers Party Comrade Amal Sen concludes Tuesday with a function in his home-district Narail.

A WP press release said a discussion on ‘Alternative People`s Force’ will be held at the district Shilpakala Academy at 4.00pm on the day with incumbent party president and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon in the chair.       

The concluding programme will be rounded off with a cultural function.
Party general secretary Fazley Hossain Badsha MP and politburo leaders will speak at the discussion meeting, the news release said.     
Marking the 100th anniversary of birth of the late Sen, also a leader of the historic a Tebhaga Andolan and an organiser of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, commemorative book entitled ‘Amal Sen Smarakgrantha’ will be published by the party.
The publication ceremony will be held at the National Press Club in Dhaka on August 8.
