 Actor Khaled  Khan passes away

The curtain dropped on a celebrated TV actor-director as Khaled Khan died at city’s Birdem Hospital on Friday evening.

He had been suffering from progressive motor neurone disease for the last 12 years which had left the lower part of his body paralysed.

Khaled breathed his last at 8:18pm, family sources said.

 He was admitted to Birdem hospital in a critical condition last Monday.

Khaled gained popularity both on the small screen and on theatre for his bold and lively performance in numerous plays.

 He was born on February 9, 1958 in Tangail district. He started his acting career in Nagorik Natya Sampradai in 1978. He had been attached to the theatre arena for last 30 years. Khaled completed his B.Com and M.Com degrees from Dhaka University in 1981 and 1983 respectively. He became a legendary actor on the stage performance later.

 Khaled’s notable theatre plays include `Dewan Gazir Kichchha,` `Nurul Diner Sara Jibon,` `Roktokorobi,` `Galileo,` and `Darpan`.

 Theatre plays directed by him include `Muktodhara,` `Putul Khela,` `Kaal Shondhyai,` `Master Builder` and `Kshudito Pashan’.

 His famous TV plays include `Sokal Shondhya,` `Ei Shob Dinratri,` `Rupnagar,` and `Lohar Churi`.
