PM speaks to press Saturday on Japan trip


Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold a press conference on Saturday afternoon to brief the media about the outcome of her recent visit to Japan in quest of forging comprehensive cooperation. 

The news conference will be held at 4:00pm at her official Ganabhaban residence, it was announced Friday.

She returned home Thursday wrapping up her four-day official visit to Japan.

The prime minister had summit-level talks with her Japanese counterpart at his office on May 26 when Japan pledged an assistance of 600 billion yen (equivalent to US$5.90 billion) to Bangladesh over the next five years.

At a joint press conference, Japan`s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, said his country proposed the formation of `Bay of Bengal Industrial Growth Belt` to help Bangladesh realise its huge economic potential and expedite its growth.
