He was made to do it.                    English Language Tips 2: Write `law-and-order situation`, NOT `law and order situation`, When you write simply `law land order`, there is no need for using hyphen, as there is no need to make it a compound word. In the first instance, law-and-order is made into a compound word to create an adjective to qulify the noun situation. In the second, the phrase law and order is not followed by any such NP and so you need not use such hyphenated compound as adjective.                    English Language Tips 1: Write `adviser to the prime minister`, NOT `adviser of the prime minister`.                    Write `adviser of the government`, NOT `adviser to the government`.

Awarding heroes-heroines Go digital in filmmaking, PM asks filmmakers

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked for using digital technology in filmmaking and producing serene entertainment movies in line with the spirit and values of independence.

She was addressing the National Film Award 2012 ceremony held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital on Saturday afternoon to recognize the adjudged best ones on the silver screen.

“In the digital era, it’s imperative to use digital technology in filming,” she said.

The PM called upon the filmmakers to stop making obscene cinemas.

She also urged them to make films that reflect the history of the liberation war and uphold the aesthetic decency.

She stressed that the outmoded cinema halls across the country should be modernized for the development of the film industry, which appears to have lost much of its glory and glamour.

Later, the prime minister handed over the National Film Award-2012 to 23 film artistes and technicians in 24 categories for their outstanding performances in the field.

Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu presided over the function, attended, among others, by film-dom celebrities.
