He was made to do it.                    English Language Tips 2: Write `law-and-order situation`, NOT `law and order situation`, When you write simply `law land order`, there is no need for using hyphen, as there is no need to make it a compound word. In the first instance, law-and-order is made into a compound word to create an adjective to qulify the noun situation. In the second, the phrase law and order is not followed by any such NP and so you need not use such hyphenated compound as adjective.                    English Language Tips 1: Write `adviser to the prime minister`, NOT `adviser of the prime minister`.                    Write `adviser of the government`, NOT `adviser to the government`.

Six people were killed as a truck carrying bamboos for flood prevention crashed into a roadside ditch in Manda upazila of Naogaon on Saturday morning.

Media reports said the lorry was heading towards Manda from Naogaon district town on a flood-prevention mission, in the wake of cataclysmic flooding in the country`s northern region, when the fatal accident took place.

`All six died on the spot as they got trapped under the heap of bamboos,` says a uns24.com report collated from available information.

The worst hit in the floods are Dinajpur, Panchagar, Kurigram, Gaibandha and Nilphamari districts in Rangpur division. Bogra, Sirajganj, Pabna and Naogaon are among the districts in Rajshahi affected by the current flood onslaughts. Baghmara upazila in Rajshahi, close by Naogaon, is also vastly flooded.

Besides, Jamalpur, Tangail and greater Faridpur and districts in greater Sylhet are severely affected by the floods fuelled by monsoon rain and onrush of floodwater from beyond borders.
