Debate contest: Motijheel Govt Boys High School champion


Motijheel Government Boys` High School in Dhaka, Chittagong Cantonment Public College, and Dhaka University became champions in Robi-Dristy National Debate Championship-2014 in school, college and university sections respectively.

Chittagong Collegiate School, Chittagong Government College, and Jahangirnagar University became runners-up in their respective sections at the finals held at Theater Institute in Chittagong city on August 30.

Trophies were given to the winning institutions at a ceremony at the same venue.

State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, while addressing the function as chief guest, said the debate competition could pave the way for the new generations to think logically and rationally.

Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, chief operating officer of Robi Axiata Ltd, was present as special guest at the function with Dristy President Masud Bakul in the chair.

This year, a total of 36 schools, 12 colleges and 24 universities of the country participated in the debate championship that started on August 21.
